Aquascutum was established in 1851, when tailor and entrepreneur John Emary opened a high quality fashion shop on Regent Street in London.
In 1853... he discovered, patented and produced the first waterproof wool... and then renamed his company "Aquascutum"... Latin for "watershield".
For decades, the company has supplied aristocrats, political leaders and famous actors with top quality trench coats and other waterproof outerwear.
The outside of this beautiful Aquascutum tote bag has a brown weaved leather exterior with black leather handles and a leather latch closing.
The spacious interior has a black canvas lining with two large compartments, separated by a large zipper compartment. The interior also has one additional large zipper pocket and two additional open pockets inside.
A rare find for sure and a great vintage addition for any collection.
